The Lion Loosed

In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears. Psalms 18:6 (NIV)
He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea. Psalms 102:17 (NIV)

The Lesson Learned

God will deliver the needy who cry out to Him (that would be all of us – for who isn’t needy in some way?). He never flippantly turns us away rather He hears and He cries and He acts. Indeed, He reaches down from on high and takes hold of us. Drawing us out of deep waters. He is ever faithful to His called and chosen ones – especially helping those who have no one to help. Holding us close in all or our weaknesses and griefs – He is sad too. The world is not as He created. The world is not right and this by our own choice. Evil entered when it was chosen in Paradise and Paradise now eludes us. But Jesus. When He entered the scene He began the process of making all things new. And He did it by His death and resurrection. Taking all our sins upon Him as the Righteous Lamb of God and dying to give us life. Those who would come to Him - who would believe in His great Name – He will never turn away.
Not only does He save all souls coming to Him for salvation, He lives to intercede for them as they walk this dusty trek from earth to heaven. They are never out of His hand. Empowering us to walk like Him through the indwelling Holy Spirit. Such love is this! He dies to save us and He lives to intercede for us – remembering that we are but clay and we are so prone to wander and leave the God we love. He sees our hearts, weighing its motivations and intents and He hears our cries and pleads of mercy. Nothing goes past His all seeing eye. And nothing is too hard for Him. Meditate on His works and His ways. What god is so great as our God?

Heart Savor

The Lion Roars

Even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high. My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; on behalf of a man he pleads with God as a man pleads for his friend. Job 16:19-21 (NIV)
But because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Hebrews 7:24-25 (NIV)
I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds. Your ways, O God, are holy. What god is so great as our God? Psalms 77:11-13 (NIV)

  • We are never to be lacking in zeal but keep our spiritual fervor serving the Lord.
  • We are to be zealous for the Lord’s great Name – through His power for His glory.
  • Create in me a pure heart and a steadfast spirit Oh Lord.
