The Lesson Learned

God knows how we are made. He knows how we are formed and He remembers that we are but dust. He knows what both bothers and blesses us. And all our days are numbered even before one of them came to be. He looks down from on high and takes hold of us, reaching His strong arm down and upholding us under our mightiest afflictions as well as pulling us out of the deepest pits which we are ever so prone to fall into. Loving us too much to remain indifferent. Forever casting His eyes on our weakest graces rather than our blaring flaws. He stoops down to fan into flames the gifts He has placed in us – to use them for His glory and for our good. Furthermore, He looks at us as He did the prodigal and He loves us still. His mantra is turn, turn, turn – why will one die in their sins.
Nothing passes His all seeing eye. He sees our smallest actions done for His glory and commends them as a mother would her little child – looking for the least good that is done by the weakest saint. Even our smallest efforts are noticed. What an amazing God we serve! He focuses on the pearl and not the spot on it.
Isn’t it a comfort to know that God reflects with an eye of love on His called and chosen ones? Upon all our desires, tears and groans? Remember He has written “No good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless” (blameless, not perfect) in Psalms 84:11B. Believers are robed in the righteousness of Christ. He shed His blood for the remission of our sins. When God looks down at a believer He sees the perfect life of Jesus. If He did the greater, will not He do the less? His will is always good, pleasing and perfect for every heir of mercy. We are not to kick against His best.
We all will have groanings and moaning’s in this world – just as our Savior did – and He has promised us that - but He has also given us the power to walk through these - with our eyes fixed on Him - in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ. This is pleasing in His sight bringing Him much glory and us much good. Remember, He has loved us with an everlasting love and has set His heart upon us – even rejoicing over us with singing – down to the very least of us.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV)

  • We are never to be lacking in zeal but keep our spiritual fervor serving the Lord.
  • We are to be zealous for the Lord’s great Name – through His power for His glory.
  • Create in me a pure heart and a steadfast spirit Oh Lord.
