The Lesson Learned

God’s plans are very often nothing we would have ever imagined or desired, Amen? The end results are always what we want but getting there, not so much. Very often, the trek to Christlikeness is through the thorny ground – the cross before the crown – and our flesh recoils at this. The original disciples didn’t get the necessity for the cross either. They were shocked even though warned. Kinda like us. We are promised tribulations on our trek to heaven and not being carried there on a bed of down, right? Yet these hardships often take us by surprise and we are left questioning, wondering, desolate and despairing.
Believers are to be a “cross bearer” for the Lord Jesus – pointing others to Him and His ways. Jesus did not suffer on earth to prevent our sufferings rather to endure them – we are strengthened by His power to walk through all He has called us to – for our good and for His glory. And sans complaining I might add, yikes! Further all trials are pregnant with purpose for the child of the King. They are never chance, random or happenstance rather perfectly planned in the recesses of Heaven by a loving Father Who always has our best interest at heart.
God did not create us to merely wander around in a trackless waste on our way to Paradise either. Rather, He desires for us to be image bearers of our Savior and He aligns all He allows towards that glorious end. He Who makes known the end from the beginning – from ancient time what is yet to come, is never taken by surprise, never. We can trust Him with our lives and the lives of all that we hold dear. He is merciful and loving toward all He has made and He is quite sufficient (to say the very least) to meet our every need.
When we feel like this present world is in total chaos – because it certainly appears to be – God is not taken by surprise at all. He knows the intenseness of the heat, the warring’s of the soul, the pain, the fear, the sickness – He misses nothing with His all seeing and loving eye and He weeps too. It is we who have chosen this sin sick path over Him. He is allowing it for a season, but it will not always remain so – Hallelujah! One fine day He will right every wrong and wipe away every tear. He will make all things new. And those who love Him will be with Him forever and ever and ever. It is the greatest ending of any love story ever told.

Heart Savor

The Lion Roars

“Remember this, fix it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels. Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.” Isaiah 46:8-10 (NIV)

  • We are never to be lacking in zeal but keep our spiritual fervor serving the Lord.
  • We are to be zealous for the Lord’s great Name – through His power for His glory.
  • Create in me a pure heart and a steadfast spirit Oh Lord.
